Jimmy Buffett Album Cover
An album cover was redesigned for Jimmy Buffett that encompasses his unique personality. Typography was the focus of the project with handcrafting song titles as well as a track list in the inside panels. The objective of this cover is to be fun, vibrant, unique, relaxing and engaging to convince people to listen to his music. Each piece was of the album was created by analog methods. Photography, Photoshop and Indesign were all utilized in this design. A final physical version was printed and handcrafted to fit a vinyl. The final design can be found in the Pattee and Paterno Library at Penn State main campus.
For the process of this project, I incorporated many beach elements were to represent Jimmy Buffetts songs. Hand painted signs were made from cutting out cardboard for the title and song track. This was an interactive design process where elements were arranged many times to find the best balanced composition. A DSLR Nikon camera was used to take photos and Photoshop was used to edit parts of the image.
