Surreal
Tour Poster
The goal of this project was to design a tour poster to promote a singer or band of our choice through surrealism. By using studio photography techniques and tasteful editing my classmate and I were able to produce a surreal tour poster for our chosen artist, Maude Latour and represent our title “Something Blue”. To represent the title, we wanted to show the growth of someone as they escape a dark and dreary place to break through to a place that they’ve always dreamed of. Professional photography techniques were used as well as me being the model.
Initial Drafts
First, we started with her making her mark on the sad, blue world but was struggling with showing the differences in worlds. We created multiple versions of trying to show her happiness and making her mark on her sad dreary world from the past and later created a poster of her ripping through the bad world to her happy place.

Process
We represented her past that she wants to get away from with blue light on her face and arm and scratches and messy hair to both resemble physical and mental harm. To show the place she dreamed of, we created analog imagery with little kid drawings to represent her dreams from childhood in a place where she has control to make her life whatever she wants it to be. We used professional photography equipment and techniques for lighting. We created a the background out of white paper and hand painted drawings on it to represent her making a mark.
