The Rotten Side
A couture fashion magazine was designed based off the movie Willy Wonka. The main idea was to create an interesting spin of the movie by showcasing the rotten sides of Willy Wonka, Violet and Veruca. Willy Wonka acts like he is the best person in the world when he really isn't, Violet is full of pride and is all about herself, and Veruca is greedy and wants everything in the world. Professional photography skills were used and interacted with typography throughout the spreads to represent each character in the best way. Adobe Photoshop and Indesign were used to create the final digital product. A final physical version was, printed and hand crafted to a full size magazine.
Ideation
My process of this project consisted of sketching out initial ideas to help me generate my composition. The sketches were annotated to specifically show the meaning of each part of the composition. I also collected objects to create a physical moodboard that could resemble each of the characters through clothing and jewelry to create the couture feeling.
Process
Throughout my process, I used photography light setups as well as a Nikon camera. I created sets that best resembled each character which can been found in the time lapse videos. I modified the clothing for each character throughout the project to create a high fashion look for the model. Once I was satisfied with my magazine I then hand crafted a physical version.
